FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Is the Ripple Effect Wave Challenge currently running? The Ripple Effect Wave Challenge is not running in its usual structured format at the moment. We’re currently developing the next stage of the initiative, with a continued focus on promoting mental wellbeing through surfing, connection, and community.

2. Can I still take part? While there’s no formal challenge right now, you can still get involved by spending more time in the ocean, setting your own goals, sharing what you’re doing with others, and supporting your wellbeing in a way that works for you. Raising awareness around mental health has always been at the heart of REWC — and that continues through everyday action and connection.

3. What was the original challenge? The original Ripple Effect Wave Challenge encouraged people to spend more time in the ocean throughout April, working towards 22 hours of surfing - reflecting the 22% of Australians who experience a mental health condition each year. Participants could also choose to donate or raise funds to support the Ripple Effect Foundation’s broader work in raising awareness and delivering mental health promotion initiatives that encourage Australians to prioritise their wellbeing.

4. Will the challenge return? Absolutely. We’re currently working on the next stage of REWC, with a continued focus on supporting mental wellbeing, connection, and positive habits. Stay connected to be part of what’s coming next.

5. How can I stay involved or updated? You can sign up to stay connected and be part of what’s next. Head to the home page and click “Keep me updated” — we’ll share updates, future initiatives, and ways you can be involved with REWC.

6. Can I still support the cause? Yes. You can support the Ripple Effect Foundation through donations and by helping spread awareness around the importance of mental wellbeing.

7. Where does the support go? Support helps fund initiatives that promote mental wellbeing, reduce stigma, and encourage positive habits through movement, nature, and connection. This includes supporting the Ripple Effect Foundation’s broader work and contributing to partner organisations and community initiatives that share a focus on improving mental health outcomes.

8. How can I get in touch? If you have any questions, feel free to contact us at info@rewc.com
